Assay - Distance

​“Distance,” along with the whole of the “Interim” EP, is about the tension of waiting for the fulfillment of the Lord’s promises — and not just the general ones listed in the scriptures, but the unique ones spoken by the Lord for the individual listener.  These specific promise create in us a tension of two kinds: the pain of longing, and the joy of hope.  The Lord has created this tension for us to experience His faithfulness, and "Distance" is a commitment to "wait on the Lord," trusting Him to fulfill all that He has promised.  Instead of looking to soothe the tensions by worldly means, I would rather suffer through the waiting and know that in the end, it will all be worth it.
